Salma Mozaffari

I joined the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Form Finding Lab in January 2024 as a postdoctoral researcher. I am also affiliated with the ADR Laboratory at the School of Architecture. I hold a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the Civil, Environmental, and Geomatic Engineering Department at ETH Zurich in Switzerland. My extensive research experience includes the application of optimization theories and algebraic geometry in computational structural design, statistical data analysis and signal processing in structural health monitoring, as well as additive and robotic manufacturing in construction. I am particularly enthusiastic about interdisciplinary research at the interface of construction automation, robotics, and eco-friendly additive manufacturing. I also have dynamic professional experience in the United States and Switzerland, where she worked on various projects, including the design, rehabilitation, and inspection of buildings and bridges. At the Form Finding Lab, I am building on my research in construction automation, researching robotic task and motion planning for multi-robot assembly.
